2010 X1 Luxury Compact Crossover SUV Expands BMW Sport Series -2

Starting this fall, the BMW X family will welcome its new member, the SUV X1 compact crossover, carefully installed under the larger brothers X3, X5 and X6. For the United States, it is expected that X1 will arrive in the 2011 calendar year.

The new BMW X1 models, aimed at a young audience, should provide the flexibility and versatility of compact cars (C-segment, lower environment) with the technical substance of a modern premium car made by the largest luxury car manufacturer in the world.

The X1 case has a length of 4.45 meters (175.2 inches), which is significantly larger than the other models of the series 1 (4.24 meters / 166.9 for 3 and 5-door cases or 4.36 meters / 171 , 7 inches) # 39; in the 1st series coupe and convertible.) It is quite logical that it remains shorter than 4.57 m. 1.79.9 of the larger brother X3.

In the terminal with a wheelbase, the X1 has a rather long size for a compact segment (2.76 meters / 10.8.7 inches). It is equal to the wheelbase of the 3rd series (X1 is a variation of the platform of the 3rd series), significantly longer than the wheelbase of the models of the 1 series (2.66 meters / 104.7 inches) and slightly shorter than 2.79 m / 110 & wheel base X3 (more about the main external and internal dimensions of the new BMW X1).

On the practical side, the back seat is equipped with an adjustable backrest (for the angle) and folds into a 40/20/20 socket, increasing the boot capacity from the original 420 liters to a maximum of 1,350 liters. In addition to 5 passengers, the Panorama electric roof is available as an option.

Depending on the model, the X1 offers petrol and diesel engines, rear-wheel drive (sDrive) or all-wheel drive technology (xDrive), as well as a number of BMW EfficientDynamics functions, including brake energy regeneration, automatic stop, and a shift point indicator.

Standard features include three-point inertia reel safety belts on all sides, front and side airbags, as well as side airbags, adaptive brake lights and daytime headlights. Options include xenon headlights, adaptive headlights and a high beam assistant.

Active safety equipment X1 includes high-precision power steering (racks and gears), high-performance brakes, dynamic stability control, including dynamic traction control and, as an option, performance control acting on the brakes.

Combined with optional Business and Professional navigation systems, the X1 features the latest BMW iDrive generation, including control buttons and direct selection on the center console, a control display built into the dashboard, and favorite buttons benefit from the control panel for a standard air conditioner.

Sophisticated HiFi systems are available as an alternative to the standard audio system, and the AUX-In port, also known as the standard, can be enhanced with a USB interface. The new model also offers additional driver support systems and a wide range of BMW ConnectedDrive services.
