Ford introduces the new Ecosport as its world's first compact SUV in Brazil, and then in Asian markets. Recently, Ford of Europe has done the same thing for the global market, but announced that it was his first compact sports car, the Kuga. Both the Ford Ecosport and the Kuga offer passenger cars — the comfort and versatility of an SUV that delivers superior fuel economy, class-leading safety and state-of-the-art technology.
Ford of Europe announced that their "experts have identified diverse and often conflicting tastes around the world to create an intercontinental call for the company's first compact SUV." This also applies to Ford models, but the Kuga is more comfort and technology prone in most mature countries, unlike the Ecosport version, which is much simpler and cheaper than an SUV. Thus, EcoSport is designed for new and illegal in mature markets such as Europe, North America and Asian countries where Kuga will be sold.
Cheaper Ecosport is welcome in Brazil due to high taxes that slow down the sale of luxury SUVs. Kuga has been hit hard, as consumers are more likely to search for a low-cost, compact SUV. However, in China, Kuga sells just as well as Ecosport due to tax cuts. In fact, Kuga attracted more attention than Ecosport, and, apparently, sold more when two compact SUVs were exposed to each other, in the hall of Beijing during the show.
To create an SUV cheaper and more profitable to do in Brazil, Ford has developed EcoSport B on the platform, a compact hatchback with a spare tire outside. This can save space with this approach, but at the same time it also challenges most SUV manufacturers, since most of them no longer carry a spare tire outside.
As for the Kuga with more space than the Ecosport, it is equipped with a lot of technology. Features include an Ecoboost engine that is more powerful and efficient. For Ecosport, it has a small benefit, such as an electric trunk lid lid, thrown into the hidden slot of the right tail light. But for more advanced technologies developed for the Kuga, it has an automatic lid opening system, caused by a foot movement below the rear bumper. This shows the differences between development and underdevelopment.
However, the Kuga panel on the left looks like Ecosport, following the visual identity of the Ford world, known as kinetic design. Ford has developed EcoSport and Kuga, as well as other models tailored to customer needs in addition to fuel efficiency, world-class safety, high performance and practicality.
