The seamy side, originally behind Accurist, was Asher and Rebecca Loftus, who originally came up with the idea of creating a company name of repetitive value, using the best materials and watches for their watches. The watches were made of Swiss components, which, of course, are the leading trade message, which, combined with low prices and an assortment of models available, means that this brand of watches was quickly installed on the market.
When Richard Loftus left the university, the next chapter of Accurist watches appeared when he developed a completely new range of watches that would revolutionize the watch market all over the world. The watches of “Old England” soon became something of a celebrity, probably with the likes of The Beatles, Twiggy, and even Princess Anne, proudly wearing their Accurist watches, especially on those special occasions.
In the late 60s, Accurist opened its first office in Switzerland, which was established as Accurist SA, which, thanks to its location in the heart of the watch capital La Chaux de Fonds, sent messages worldwide that Accurist quickly became one of the largest designer watch manufacturers in the world. The introduction of digital quartz movement and the development of technology means that Accurist soon became the designer of more modern watches and became the official observer for Concorde pilots, which was recently launched at the time.
The 1980s, the company transferred its production to Japan, and also became the official sponsor of Talking Clock, which to this day is still used by millions of people. At the end of 1987, Accurist was awarded the Goldsmiths National Association, the first to receive an award for excellence in recognition of their contribution and influence on the UK watch market.
In 1990, Accurist dominated the British watch market, with record sales and more watches that were launched than ever before, winning the "watch brand" at the UK Jewelery Awards. By the end of this decade, Accurist launched the accu.2 assortment, mainly targeting the younger market, which quickly became one of the best-selling watches in more than 1,500 stores and outlets across the country.
There is no doubt that marketing abilities as well as product development and standards have led Accurist over the past 60 years to remain one of the leading watch manufacturers in the world. Thanks to growing sponsorship deals, new products and new technologies, Accurist has gained tremendous power in supplying designers and low-cost watches to millions of people around the world, which will undoubtedly continue despite increased competition in the market today.
