Motorists around the world will be familiar with the name and significance of BMW. Also known as Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, BMW translates into Bavarian Motor Works & and is one of the most important German automakers of all time. Founded in 1916, the company grew and grew with new models and subsidiaries that own not only MINI cars, but also are the parent company of one of the most prestigious automakers of all time, and the head of the name is in sync with luxury: Rolls-Royce Motorcycles. Not content with simply conquering the world of cars, the company also has two motorcycle brands, known as BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna.
The company's logo talks a lot about its original vocation, with the blue and white parts designating the propeller of the aircraft as it moves across the sky. Founded by Franz Josef Popp, the BMW brand began producing aircraft engines and soon began producing a number of motorcycles in 1923, which led to the production of automobiles from 1928–29.
