Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Review - Pros and Cons -2

What comes to mind when you think of Cadillac Escalade? Good looking? Of course. Rap stars with a lot of "calls" Maybe. Fuel economy 20 mpg? I doubt it, but it is exactly that GM-luxury divisions are awaiting change with the introduction of the Escalade Hybrid.

While shooting for 20+ MPG does not seem very impressive at first, you should understand that it represents an increased saving of over 50%, according to Cadillac. This is very impressive when you consider that the Escalade Hybrid has not sacrificed a yota of luxury and size, which makes it popular among sports stars with 6 or more feet and their surroundings. Also, the Escalade Hybrid did not avoid most of its legendary utility; 2WD models can still tow 6,000 pounds, while 4WD models can tow an impressive 5,700 pounds.

These are not quite the full towing capacity of 8000/7900 pounds offered by 2WD / AWD models running on a 6.2 l Vortec engine, but both of these models have only 12 MPG in the city.

The Escalade Hybrid combines an advanced electric drive system with a modern # V8 function that can operate on eight or four cylinders, regardless of the situation. This gives the Escalade Hybrid excellent power when required, and reasonable savings when it comes to city driving. The end result is that the Escalade Hybrid owners won't cringe every time they see a gas station.

Plenty of power, good looks and a sensible economy in the iconic American luxury SUVs? The Escalade Hybrid removes all this, only sacrificing some of its ample towing abilities.
