Classic cars in time for summer -2

The Classic Automobile Club of America defines CCCA Classic as: “beautiful” or “distinctive” car, made either in American or in foreign, made between 1925 and 1948. Other factors, including engine movement, custom bodywork and luxury accessories such as power brakes, power clutches and “one-off” or automatic lubrication systems help determine whether a car is considered a classic.

The above description is somewhat limiting, with the beginning of the classical era of automobiles, more typically considered the 1930s, ending with a period of muscle in the 1970s. Many shows end up defining classics in 1972, defending cars built in 1973 or later, like modern customs, exotics or collectibles.

There are many reasons why people claim that they like classic cars better than today's cars. Some opinions and reasons include the following:

· Cars are technically better built

· Cars have more “style” and beauty in their body lines.

· More solid, made of metal, rather than cheaper products, such as plastic

· Developed by car enthusiasts, not businessmen.

Resale value

Classic cars tend to keep their value well, especially if they have been well groomed or restored. As in any case, if you are in the market for a purchase, do your research and make sure that you know what brand and model you are looking for, and what price range will be acceptable and suitable. If you want to sell, do the same, so that you know what a reasonable price to ask. The most desirable cars, as a rule, are owners of cars with low mileage, which mostly remain covered and very well serviced.

There are dozens of sites dedicated to the sale, as well as countless auto dealers who specialize. If you cannot find what you are looking for locally, check the Internet or plan to visit a car dealership in your area or outside.

Classic Chevys

Classic cars come in too many makes and models to mention in this article. Although automakers such as AMC, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, and Pontiac, produce cars that now fall into the “classic” range, American Chevy has some of the most iconic models. Chevy's portfolio includes the following:

· Camaro

· Chevelle

· Corvair

· Corvette

· El Camino

· Impala

· Nova

Custom classic cars

Along with restoring the classics, people often like to make their cars a bit more attractive by adding modifications known as the “customization” of their car. Individual customization can range from simple to very complex paint jobs, to mechanical configurations and decorative strokes.

World Record Performance

The current Guinness world record for the highest car mileage belongs to the Volvo 1966 Volvo P1800, which has now covered more than 2.9 million miles! Volvo is one of the companies where consumers can order parts from their local dealers to ensure the original performance of their classic car; and the parts delivered today are actually of higher quality than when the car was in production thanks to the evolving technology.

If you want to buy a classic car for investment or just for its love, or if you are just an enthusiast who loves this kind, people seem to enjoy restoring and showcasing their cars across America, you can definitely consider this one of America's favorite games.
