Expandable house plans - 3 examples. Why are they a flexible choice when building a small house? -2

For homeowners who are planning to build a small house, choose flexible home plans, offer more solutions to future housing needs and better position them to counter potential problems and unforeseen changes in their lifestyle. Since the years of designing various individual houses for clients with different needs, we have seen firsthand how well house plans have or have not served for their intended use. Here are three situations in which flexible, building plans for houses (or would) solve unexpected events that our clients experienced over time.

Expandable house plans provide extra bedrooms.

This divorced mother of one teenage child was quite comfortable in her small 2-bedroom house, not far from very lucrative work, when she and her “three right” with her three children. Because of the distance, moving to his larger house was not an option, and selling in the current real estate market would be slow at best. Fortunately, when a small house was originally built, she had the foresight to get expandable house plans that included provisions for adding more living space and bedrooms without disconnecting the main house. The addition was easy to build while she was able to live in the house.

Home-style house plans offer space for returning family members.

This retired couple, who fell to a smaller home, was forced to adopt a married daughter and her family because of her job loss. Fortunately, the much-needed breathing room was easily accessible due to their expandable home design. Adding to the existing small house was flawless and painless, as they had already built the first stage of the building's plan. The completion of the second phase, which was specifically designed as a separate addition, allowed them to live in the main structure of the house with the least amount of failures in the construction process.

Flexible house plan addresses brokers market

When this retired couple developed their new home with a decrease in size, their goal was to keep the rooms and square meters to a minimum. Although there is nothing bad in this regard, they are neglected by the provisions for any additions and extensions that a potential buyer or future homeowner might have wished. After the death of his wife and his outstanding poor health, the husband planned to move in with his adult children. However, the sale of his small house was a difficult task, taking much more time than it should have been, and with great loss. It is a pity that he did not have an expandable home design that would offer more flexible options to potential buyers.

Expandable house plans that include building in stages or convenient additions to rooms are much more flexible and attractive to future homeowners. Meeting the needs of a larger share of the homeowner market increases the resale value and the market value of small home plans and makes their work much more versatile for those who live in houses.
