Most of us have heard of Govt Car Auctions at some point. Or maybe even seen an ad somewhere. But what makes them so popular now?
The fact is that the government does not sell cars for business! But they use many different types of vehicles in their business. A car auction is used to sell cars on behalf of Govt.
Vehicles used by the Government are usually serviced on a regular basis. Some departments have employees of mechanics who maintain their own fleet of cars. Therefore, if a strange noise comes from the engine, or the driver thinks that something might be wrong, then the car almost immediately draws attention.
However, for the owner of a private car and the rising cost of car maintenance, many of us will at least look at ourselves to see if this is just a minor condition. We would be inclined to make small repairs ourselves; such as replacing the internal light bulb. Not so for most vehicle drivers Govt. Most Govt cars are maintained in better mechanical condition than our own private cars.
Another reason that Govt car auctions have become more popular is that most Govt vehicles only last a few years before replacing them. This means that they mainly sell late-model cars, including ATVs, trucks, vans, sedans and others.
At the auction with the car, which sold cars that are in private ownership, there are many older models that are exhibited to participate in the auction. The condition of these vehicles also varies in a huge amount and, of course, will not be in the same category as the Govt cars that are sold at auction.
Cars purchased at the Govt car auction will have clean names. They would not suffer floods or other hidden defects. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the large number of private cars sold at auctions.
When you buy a car at Govt, you know that they just want to sell the car there and then. They do not want to miss it and continue to pay storage costs.
This is not at all like buying a private car through local ads. Owners can become quite attached to their “child” and expect a crazy price for it. They may even become emotional at the thought of their pride and joy leaving the neighborhood. It can also put you under heavy pressure when working with these owners.
I, of course, prefer a less stressful way to buy my cars. That's why I always buy Ex-Governor Auctions I know where I start from the very beginning, without unpleasant surprises. This is probably why they are becoming so popular.
