The Aragon region can be found in northeastern Spain and in the enterprises of the provinces of Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel. The region lies roughly with the historical kingdom of Aragon and is bounded from the north by France; to the south - Valencia; in the east - Catalonia, and in the west - areas of Castilla-la-Mancha, Castile-Leon, Navarre and La Rioja. The official spoken language in Aragon is Castilian Spanish, although in some valleys of the Pyrenees one can hear the original Aragonese language.

Aragon runs through the Ebro River, which offers fish of such a quantity and proportions that the Ebro is considered one of the best places in Europe for cat and carp fishing. With a population of just over 1.3 million people living in Aragon, and half of them live in the capital of Zaragoza, the region is mostly desert with beautiful mountain landscapes in the north and mostly barren land in the south.

The largest peaks of the Pyrenees Mountains can be found in Aragon with Aneto, the highest of all, found in the province of Huesca. In the mountains you can find beautiful secluded valleys that remain large, not spoiled due to their inaccessibility. It is difficult to spread through the valleys and plains, you can find small towns and churches with a beautiful view of the harsh landscape.

In the region of Aragon there are three provinces in which the cities of Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel occupy the same names as their province. There are many small towns throughout the region and especially in the province of Teruel, where of the 236 municipalities, more than half of the settlements have a population of less than 200 people. Between the villages, the land is mostly deserted and rather barren.

Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon

The huge Plaza del Pilar is the social center of Zaragoza, shrouded in beautiful old monuments and beautiful fountains. Here you can find the Basilica del Pilar; which domes and towers dominate the city, and that is where the legend was represented by the Virgin Mary. To the west of the city center you can find the palace of La Aljaferia. The building currently houses the regional parliament of Aragon.

Aragon Monastery of San Juan de la Peña

Located 30 km south-west of Khaki, this monastery church dedicated to St. John is located on a huge overhanging cliff. The monastery had a special meaning from Muslim times, when pilgrims stayed here hoping to see the Holy Grail, a Roman bowl that was hidden somewhere in a monastery. The Roman bowl is now visible in the Valencia Cathedral. The lower church is the heart of the monastery, which was founded in 920. On the second floor is the Pantheon, where you can see the tombs of nobles from Aragon and Navarre. Inside the apse of the High Church of San Juan, you can see a replica of the Holy Grail, which was kept inside the walls to protect it from Muslim invasion.
