Most of us do not associate “Made in China” with luxury or designer brands, but more and more such elegant Italian shoes that you like so much are really made in China. You just can not find the tag inside the shoe, saying so.
ESPecially in the current economic market, sales of luxury goods have declined significantly, and some designer brands are suffering. One of the most effective ways to reduce costs is to move the base of operations abroad, and China is one of the most attractive markets for creating a store.
The fact that "American" or "European" shoes are made in China is not a secret. Nike has long been associated with Made in China shoes; in fact, about every third of the Nike slippers comes with a "Made in China" sticker. This trade-off is harder for designer brands such as Chanel, Prada and Armani, who successfully and successfully implemented their brand on “European craftsmanship”. One of the reasons why someone can spend an extra $ 300 on Prada shoes is because they want an artisanal handicraft Europe. They want to believe that what they are buying is a real bargain - an Italian leather boot, built by someone who knows and loves the art of boots, and not the factory workers in China.
So which companies jumped on the continents? Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Bally and Prada to name a few brands. But not all of these companies are ready to publish this new base of activity. In fact, in some of these shoes you will find the label “Made in Italy”, where, perhaps, there should be a label “Made in China” instead. This is possible due to some very flexible labeling laws that base the product label on the end point of production. Thus, shoes made in China will have a leather sole attached in Italy and Voila! Shoes legally "Made in Italy".
This does not mean that these shoes are now worse than when they were produced in Europe. Workers in China are said to be fast and accurate. That is, they are able to produce equally high-quality shoes in less time and for less money.
According to Giorgio Bonacarso, a chemical supplier that sells products to Chinese factories that produce Italian shoes, nine out of ten leading Italian shoe companies now occupy at least part of their shoes in China. You, the consumer, may not be aware of this, and this is due to the fact that designer brands are afraid of backlash and lose the image, because of which they stand out from the package in the first place.
