Buying bedding is a great investment and should not be taken lightly. You need to know about the size of the beds you need. Double, double XL, double, queen or king sheets to match the bed you also have significant items to consider when purchasing bedding. Measuring the mattress to find out the height will help you determine the depth pockets or standard pockets for the sole sheet. Color, texture, weave and number of threads are important components when buying bedding. All these factors will make the purchase of new bedding much more satisfactory and will leave you perfect at the end of the day.
Mattress size
Measuring the height of the mattress will prevent the disorder of the wrong plantar sheet, which simply does not fit the mattress. Use a standard measuring tape, place the end of the tape at the bottom of the mattress and measure to the top height mark on the paper. A standard set of bedding with an integrated bottom sheet will have a pocket from 12 to 14 inches. The size of the pocket is usually not mentioned on the label unless it is a deep pocket. A set of deep pocket sheets will have a pocket size from 15 to 22 inches. Knowing the size of the mattress will prevent the erroneous purchase of sheets that do not match the mattress. Check the label for a pocket size, and you will be much happier with the purchase.
Another factor in bed sheets is bed size. Every mattress maker has a standard that is used to make a mattress. Sheets are made according to the same standard. A suitable sheet for a double is 39 inches x 75 inches, a double XL is 39 inches x 80 inches, a full one is 54 inches x 75 inches, a queen is 60 inches x 80 inches, a king is 76 inches x 80 inches, and a king is 72 inches x 84 inches.
Having determined the bed size, finding the right sheets for you is the next important step. The number of threads, weave, texture and color are the following points to consider when buying bed linen. If you want soft, durable sheets that keep their color and retain their crisp appearance, buy 100% cotton, single-layer sheets. These sheets will complement the decor of the bedroom, adding style and flare to the bedding.
Number of sheets
Any sheets, in which the number of threads of 100% cotton fiber with one layer is more than 250, withstand longer from wear and look well washed after washing. Each step up the flow account, such as counting 300, 400, 450, 500 or 600 flows, will become softer, which is more like a satin with each increase in the number of flows. Cotton is the most durable, and one layer is the softest sheet.
You can choose several types to choose the number of cotton sheets: Egyptian, Pima, Supima and Organic. Each one is made from high quality long fibers that are strong and soft and natural against the skin.
Other types of sheets that are not cotton: Synthetic (polyester), Polyester blends (cotton and polyester), Bamboo (bamboo grass) and Silk. All of them can be soft and silky, resistant to wrinkles and drape well, but can be not as soft and natural as 100% cotton sheets.
Bed sheets
Jacquard and Damascus weaves are the most luxurious and exhibit a variety of stripes and patterns that will be the high point of your decorating style. Special looms create a satin weave next to a matte weave, creating stripes, and can bring out the gloss or drown out the decor of the room.
The other weaves that are available are solid satin weave, where one vertical thread is woven between four and eight horizontal threads, soft but less durable. A thin weave that consists of two strands and one under, but it is not as soft as a true satin weave. The glove weave, where each yarn intersects alternately under another, will at first appear rougher, but after a few washes it may become softer.
Texture for bedding
100% cotton provides the most luxurious feeling in combination with the number of threads more than 250. The texture of the sheet can move the bed from usual to unusual. Soft silk sheets with a high number of threads provide hours of comfort and relaxation without rubbing or wiping, like sheets with thread trimming. The texture of the sheet is of paramount importance for a restful sleep, and sheets with a large number of threads provide the texture necessary to achieve this goal.
Bedding color
Matching or highlighting colors in the bedroom with sheets will trigger the theme of the room, adding extra warmth or cool accents and bedding. Maroon bedding with suitable or lighter sheets will complement the theme of the room or a lighter bedding with a dark sheet that emphasizes the glare in the room and makes you a star for decorating ideas. The color of the sheets can be found in such a variety and will improve the room where you need dark blue, green, yellow, maroon, black or white bedding. Each color can be matched to a color scheme to bring out accents in the room or emphasize the quality of the room.
