Tired of the cold weather? Get a cruise ship job this winter! -2

With winter here, and the cold atmosphere, maybe it's time to think about more sunny climates? One of the very popular solutions is “Get a cruise ship job!” Think about it, traveling the Caribbean for 6-8 months, visiting idyllic islands every day, such as Barbados, St. Thomas, Aruba and Bahamas. Oh, and very fun in the sun! This is exactly what I have been doing for five years in a row, and you can do it too!

Now, before you run away and start blowing your resume at every cruise ship company in the world, you need to think about a few things. Although the life of cruise ships has its advantages, I must warn you that it also has some negatives. First of all, you will probably live in a room smaller than most dressing rooms and share it with another person. Secondly, when you start working for a cruise ship company, you will not have the freedom of “Land Life”. As an employee of a cruise ship, you will follow fairly strict rules and regulations (what you can and cannot do on the ship, crew curfew, what you can wear, and other rules).

This is usually for the safety of all passengers of the vessel. You do not have freedom, just jump in the car and go to the cinema, or go on a long journey to relieve stress. When you sign a contract on a ship, it is usually at least 6 months (although shorter or longer contracts are available for certain positions). Plus in many positions you can work every day. Not ALL day, but at least part of the day. Usually this is when the ship left the port, and all the passengers returned on board.

With all this, I feel that working on cruise ships is the best place to work for young people, earns $ 300 - $ 700 US per week in cash and travels around the world for free with all your expenses. Every cruise ship company I worked on really makes its way to take care of its crew. They pay for your flight and travel expenses to meet with the ship, and if you complete your contract, they will pay for the journey home. Food is provided free of charge to the crew, and alcoholic beverages are cheap. There are not many places in this world that you will never have to pay for food, meals or travel.

To work on a ship, you must be able to leave everything behind at home for at least six months. This job is perfect for people without any connections, such as a spouse, a house, or even a pet. This job is great for students who are taking an “intermediate year,” or have graduated, and are looking for a break before they enter the “real” world. All you need is a valid passport to be drug free (they randomly test their employees on a regular basis). You should also be ready to leave when necessary and be customer friendly. human.

Many people come to me and tell me that they used to go to cruise companies and never get an answer. Well, this is very understandable when you understand that major cruise companies get thousands of repetitions every week. They are often versed in resumes and drop them for the smallest reason. I have a couple of friends who were HR managers on major cruise lines, and they told me some interesting stories. The first kind of heap summary is done on punctuation and spelling mistakes. If there is absolutely any punctuation error, your resume will be “filed” (thrown out). Then they could sort everything they feel, such as font, paper color, or even length. The best advice I can give you is simplicity and thoroughness for details and consistency.

They have jobs for most people aboard a cruise ship. Many new cruise ships sailed with over 2,000 guests and more than 800 crews on board. Cruise ships become small cities on the ocean. They have everything you need, from the shopping district, theaters, canteens, concerts, hotel services, passenger events, health clubs and spas. Regardless of your trade or skills on land; There is a 99% chance that you have a job for you on a cruise ship.
