
The headquarters of Honda, headquartered in Japan, has a long and successful history of creating high-quality cars. Honda Technology Research Institute is the 6th largest automotive manufacturer in the world and the largest engine developer in the world. In October 1946, Soichiro Honda founded the Honda Technical Research Institute in Hamamatsu, Japan. The goal was to develop and build small two-stroke motorcycle engines. Two years later, Honda Motor Company, Ltd. was created. The first US store opened in the USA in 1959 in Los Angeles.
Honda's first vehicle was the T360 mini pickup. Honda's first production car was the S500 sports car.

In August 2008, Honda surpassed Chrysler as the 4th largest car manufacturer in the United States. Honda is currently Japan’s second largest producer behind Toyota and is ahead of Nissan.
Honda increased global production in September 2008 to meet the demand for small cars in the US and developing countries. Due to the current global crisis, the company is now restructuring production in the United States to support the work, building several minivans and sports cars.
Honda introduced the second generation Insight in their home country in February 2009. The US market received a new Insight in April 2009. Honda expects to sell 200,000 cars each year, with half of these sales in the United States. Since 2002, Honda has been selling the Honda Civic Hybrid (2003 model) in the US market. It was followed by a Honda Accord Hybrid.
