The Fairline Targa 38 is a luxury cruise cruiser, usually mostly on a cruise line over a cape or in dark order in open waters. The Fairline Targa 38 was launched at the London Boat Show in 2006, and then the Targa 38 GT, which was launched at the Southampton Boat Show in 2011. The Targa 38 Open replaced the GT and was launched in 2013 at the London Boat Show. Differences between model options include:
- Targa 38 does not have a hardtop and radar arch in place.
- Targa 38 GT has a sealed hard cover and an improved interior. It is equipped with a patio door and a furnished upper saloon (inaccessible on the Targa 38).
- Targa 38 OPEN has a hardtop with a sliding roof and an open cockpit, but there is no door for the patio. This model offers an extra swim platform with low humidity.

- Remove the gear selector cover on the legs with external holes, clear the toothed cable when it slides in and out of the sleeve, then apply some marine lubricant, this will save electronic drives on overload and damage to the gearbox.
- When hibernating, remove and store the perforated shower head.
- Release pressure from washers for screen to avoid frost damage for smaller pipelines.
