Rome, the capital of Italy, is historically known as the "City of Seven Hills". According to Roman mythology, the seven hills of early Rome were Cermalus, Cispius, Fagutal, Oppius, Palatium, Sucusa and Velia. But now the modern “City of Seven Hills” includes Myrtle, Blossom, the Clock Tower, Jackson, Lumkin and the Older Shorter Hills and Mount Aventine.
At first, all seven hills were occupied by a different small village and were not grouped or recognized by a city called Rome. Residents of seven hills began to participate in a series of religious games that began to tie groups together. Thus, the city of Rome originated as these separate settlements acted as a group, draining the swampy valleys between them and turning them into markets. Rome became the most beautiful city in the world, which soon began to rule the world.
Five of the seven hills of present-day Rome are inhabited by monuments, buildings and parks. Currently, the municipality of Rome is in Capitolina, and the Palatine Hill is an archaeological area. Monuments of Rome still remind Rome as one of the greatest centers of Western civilization.
The eternal city is home to rich heritage and art. There are many luxurious ancient palaces, and one of them is the Golden House of Nero. On an area of about 200 acres of land, the palace has a statue of Nero, 150 feet in the nude at the entrance. The only ancient building that remains intact today is the Pantheon, whose spatial concept makes it an architectural marvel.
In addition, there are still many things, such as the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, the Vatican Museums, Piazza Navona and the Capitoline Museum, which capture the sights of visitors from all over the globe. In the charming city there is one of the best collections of budget hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars and a shopping gallery that promises to make your trip enjoyable.
