Famous Gruen Vintage watches-2

There is a large number of vintage watches Gruen. Over the past century, Grün released several high-quality watches, many of which still track time. For collectors, investors, or people just looking for a classic look, these models are a good place to start.

Grun Technical Quadron - Hours Techni-Quadron watches, released in 1928, consist of a rectangular face and look like a Quadron. The top and bottom dials were the same size, while the first one consisted of an hour / minute, the last one consisted of a second hand.

Techni-Quadrons were often called the doctor's clock, as the huge stopwatch was easy to watch when measuring the pulse. The watches were also admired by various technicians, especially engineers. Please note that all Gruen watches were not a doctor watch. On Techni-Quadron, the dial consisting of the hour / minute hand is set above where the crown enters the case, on the contrary, at the center of the dial. Some of them also had an expanding buckle that allowed them to slide to the arm, which led to the release of the arm and wrist.

Carr Square - Carr, French to the square, which was released in 1931, was a comfortable pocket watch in square shape. Numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 were located in 4 corners, giving it a diamond shape. It could be used by both sexes and, therefore, was sold as a pocket watch for men and a women's watch for purses, as well as a portable table clock. A number of models came with glowing hands and numbers, so that they can be seen in the dark. Carr was dissolved in 1934 and costs about $ 55 (~ $ 1,400 at present).

Famous line of curvature - Curvex, released in 1935, was named the governor of Curvex for men and the queen of Curvex (1936) for women. These were not only the most famous watches of the Grün harvest collection, but also the flagship watches until the end of the 1940s. Production of these watches was discontinued after 1954.

An elitist and unique aspect of Curvex was that the clock, as well as the movement inside it, were curved. The patented movement (1,855,952) was applied in this watch, and therefore the configuration of the gears was curved in position. Many other curved watches in the 1930s were forced to use smaller movements that were not as precise and were also very fragile.

All real men's watches Curvex were Precision grade and had one of four movements. In fact, what makes this watch unique is movement, without it, it is not Curvex. Four movements - caliber 311 (1953) - long, thin movement, caliber 330 (1937) - long, thin and curved movement (Custom Curved), caliber 440 (1940) - short, square / oval movement and caliber 370 (1948) - short and wide movement (Curvametric).

Unique Ristside - Styled and designed to be worn on the side of their wrists and embedded thumb, the Ristside watch was released in 1937 and was pronounced like a wrist. These watches were obviously desirable by collectors, but turned out to be as rare as Grun did not sell much. In addition, it is likely that some collectors will try to sell any local watches with hinged tips as Ristside. In addition to the Brotherhood (mentioned below) and one additional similar model, all Ristsides are rectangular and have curved cases.

The watches that are considered part of both the Curvex and Ristside of the Gruen watch family are the Curvex-Ristside watch. Motion 330; described as a long, thin and curved motion in the above points; was used in three types of watches; namely, Curvex Coronet, Curvex Lord and Curvex Admiral. The Curvex-Ristide brotherhood consisted of hinged projections and used the movement 440.
