The earliest story about pocket watches was in a letter dated 1462 from the Italian watchmaker Bartholomew Manfredi in Marchez di Mantou Federico Gonzaga, where he offers him “pocket watches” that belonged to the Duke of Moderns. In the 15th century, many European forge watches produced a pocket watch, but it was not until the end of 1830 that this thirst was introduced to the United States.
