For a serious cook, a kitchen is the functional heart of the kitchen. Many people prefer to cook with gas, as the oven has much more control and temperature accuracy, but there are many places where an electric cooker is your only choice.
On the electric stove there are many features that are not available in the gas range. Self-cleaning is one of the biggest. I used this feature, and I have to admit that I like it a lot. There is nothing wrong with baking delinquent deserts in a dirty oven. Many people believe that an electric oven has a higher operating temperature. This is a dryer for heat, so if you are looking for a crisp outside on your meat, an electric oven is the way to go. I must confess that I prefer gas to electric - it’s just better to fry under the flame!
If you have a choice, there are several ways. You can view the top of the gas range with separate electric ovens located in another part of the kitchen. We had this configuration and it works well. You can have a built-in pan, great for pancakes, omelettes or grilled sandwiches. The open grill is great for grilling meats, from steaks to hamburgers and hot dogs. The burner sections still exist, giving you more flexibility in any configuration you want.
I highly recommend you to think about double ovens. This feature adds so much value to your kitchen for resale, as well as functionality. After you have used the dual oven setting, you will not want to go back to fighting for the use of only one. Remember to provide adequate ventilation on both sides.
When designing areas around a cooker in a new kitchen, make sure that there is enough space for the counterweight. If you are making a large amount of baking, look at the cooling racks close enough to the ovens so that you have enough free space for your hot treats right out of the oven.
No matter what cooking method you decide to use, gas or electric. Look to include a safe space around, so that when you cook, you can enjoy not only the wonderful sights and flavors coming from the stove, but also you can have company (friends or family).
