Top Historic Bed and Breakfast in the USA -2

A typical bed and breakfast (B & B) usually offers accommodation and breakfast. The beauty of staying in bed and breakfast is an individual, homely touch, like a home away from home. For a more private and relaxing stay, some travelers prefer breakfast and breakfast areas, where on average there are only six to twelve rooms.

In America there are many excellent places for B & B, and some of the best are restored manor houses and private houses that have historical connections in the area. These restored houses are the products of two legislative acts: the National Law on the Preservation of Historic Monuments of 1966 and the Law on Tax Reform of 1976. These laws allowed to receive tax rebates for the restoration and conversion of historic houses.

We have compiled a list of the best historical sites and breakfasts in America, where visitors can appreciate the magnificent architecture and experience interesting stories.

1. Twelve Oaks

Located in Covington, Georgia, "Twelve Oaks" evokes the legendary Margaret Mitchell Mansion "Gone With the Wind." He was chosen as one of the top ten B & Bs in the USA. The mansion was built in 1836 and has eight luxurious rooms with modern amenities and private bathrooms. It is located near the historic Covington Square, and the city is filled with front-end mansions. It is also conveniently located just 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta.

2. House of Aaron Berr

This bed and breakfast is located at the very spot where the third US vice president disappeared after his shameful duel with Alexander Hamilton, who ended up living in Hamilton. Located in New Hope, Pennsylvania, the original stone foundation is the only thing left in the home of Aaron Berra. All rooms are decorated with unique stencils and have beautiful, shiny hardwood floors. With interest in Hamilton and Burra due to the hit of Broadway, this will certainly cause great interest.

3. Chateau Tivoli

The Chateau Tivoli Hotel, one of the best historical breads and breakfasts on the west coast, is located in San Francisco, California. The structure itself is very familiar, because it is one of the famous "Painted Ladies" of Steiner Street, which is noticeably visible in San Francisco postcards. Built in 1892, the structure has been used for different purposes over the years. The bed and breakfast opened in 1989 and has nine luxuriously equipped rooms.

Battlefield Bed and Breakfast

It is located in Pennsylvania, right on the Gettysburg battlefield. It is one of the most unique hotels in the country, because it gives visitors a unique experience of living in the era of civil war. Originally built as a farmhouse in 1809, it has an original tower wood ceiling, chestnut floors and stone walls. Each issue has a theme that honors southern cavalry troops. There is a history lesson accessible from the costumed characters of the civil war.

5. Sugar Hill Harlem Inn

Located right in the center of New York, in an area where the hotel is located in close proximity to the mid-early 20th century Harlem Renaissance. This is an area that includes black families. Jazz legend Herzog Ellington, poet Langston Hughes, and former Supreme Court judge Trigood Marshall lived in this area. The hotel has 5 themed rooms named after an eminent African American.
