Changes for 2016 Lexus RX-2

Regarding the issue of luxury SUV crossovers, Lexus has a triumphal plan that keeps the RX above the opposition. Only in 2014, the Lexus RX sold its direct rival, the BMW X5, and almost surpassed all BMW crossover models, merging with 107,690 units. Currently, with the 2016 Lexus RX 350 and 450h, the Japanese car manufacturer has increased the stakes. The fourth era of the Lexus SUV was upgraded from the grille to the rear lights and wheels to the roof.

Appearance and style

Since 1998, the RX is known for its easy and plush riding with a modest look. Having made one huge leap in the other direction, Lexus shaped and shaped the look of the most modern SUV to give it a more lively look. By purchasing some of the features of the NX 200t, the design team included tight edges and folds - creating a more sporty look.

The most notable change is that the Lexus brand has a spindle grille. This is one of the largest, most unmistakable lattice contours that used the brand. It is more extensive and more pronounced; almost covering the front of the car from corner to corner. Even foggy lights are scattered in a triangular abyss, going down towards the asphalt and planes on the street ahead.

A frontal view of this car screams for attention and will definitely get what it requires. Curved headlights illuminate the road ahead and now have standard two LED LEDs and additional triple L-shaped LEDs. Daytime running lights (DRL) fall below the LED lights and consist of 18 individual LEDs and act as turn indicators. One thing that will be difficult to see on the new RX is the flush-mounted washers that are hidden from view when not in use.

The blackened C-pillars of the RX give it a floating-roof look, first seen on a Lexus model. The doors on the new SUV were completed with a new SmartAccess handle with puddle lamps that provide lower ground lighting for passengers entering the car. New colors (Caviar, Autumn Shimmer and Nightfall Mica) make a crossover and have a scratch-resistant, self-healing coating in body paint. This new coating, using a high-performance macromolecular polymer, resists nail scratches around the door handles and improves the gloss and color of the paint for a long period of time.

engine

The fourth generation, 2016 Lexus RX 350 has received more than cosmetic makeup. The fact that Lexus has introduced a new car into the transmission will have manufacturers continuing to pursue this SUV, both on and off the road. New design, transmission and engine mount highlight some new changes in the RX 2016.

While in the previous generation, Lexus uses the RX with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine. Of course, this new SUV with its athletic and aggressive style couldn't just get transplanted from the previous RX engine. The transition from a multi-port fuel injection system to a direct-injection fuel system leads to the addition of heart rate to the new RX in terms of both performance and fuel efficiency. Delivering 295 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, the 2016 Lexus RX achieves 2-miles per gallon more than its predecessor on front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models.

Transmission

Although the previous generation RX offers an affordable 8-speed transmission (in F-game models), each of the RX 350 2016 models will produce a sensitive 8-speed transmission. Additional gears in this gear provide better fuel mileage, more bang from the line and more visible power transfer over the fourth generation RX. The RX 450h will continue to receive CVT transmissions.

Chassis

Using high-tech adhesives for the body and laser welding, in the 2016 crossover, structural integrity and overall stiffness were increased. A new process was developed called the “ring frame design” for the reinforced frame sections inside the vehicle around the front and rear doors. High tensile steel is used in key areas such as the cruciform elements of the bottom of both A and B-pillars. These improvements help to increase the efficiency of handling and protecting passengers, thereby helping to keep the cabin quieter.

Suspension

The RX front suspension and double-wishbone rear suspension system have been optimized to provide more control and ride comfort. Front and rear suspension weight improves ride efficiency and quality. Modification of the car engine mount and increase the stiffness of the front wheels, front axle and hub bearings change the driver's experience, improving feedback with the steering mechanism. In addition, tire grip and grip were changed, allowing the RX to respond more clearly and increase overall maneuverability. Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) is now available as a premium option. AVS alters damping forces to road conditions and even responds to acceleration, steering or braking; further improve ride quality.

Steering

To provide greater accuracy and responsiveness, the RX steering system has also been modified. The new electrical power management system (EPS) has been adopted for a wider range of control or initial control, return and rotation. Drivers can choose an easy and convenient steering or enhance the response and feel “on the fly” with the help of the available drive selection system.
