Which is better, foreign or used cars?-2

At least for the last 30-40 years, many people simply assumed that foreign used cars are better than in the United States. Although this perception may have been correct for a long time, American cars have made great strides in reliability, resale value, and quality.

In fact, this is not so much, since the gap between foreign and American brands has been significantly reduced. In fact, a 2011 study conducted by J.D. Power and Associates, showed that the American automaker was the most popular automotive brand in general, which indicates how far the manufacturers of the country have advanced in terms of quality.

However, the idea that American cars are inferior continues to exist. However, this gap also closes in relation to the resale value. In the automotive industry there is a big change, as managers, engineers and designers are moving from foreign automakers to domestic manufacturers and vice versa. And many so-called “foreign” manufacturers actually make many of their cars in the United States. When you take into account the number of cars made in America and how many cars are assembled in the United States, there are several brands associated with foreign countries that can actually be classified as American cars.

In principle, cars are generally better downstream than 20 years ago. Where you would be happy, if a couple of decades ago you could even get 125,000 miles from the engine, now vehicles usually reach 200,000 or even 230,000 miles. This makes used cars even more attractive. Some luxury models can go up to 500,000 miles, which was unheard of just a few years ago. This, of course, does not mean that there are no lemons there yet. However, the number of these people has decreased dramatically.

The lines continue to blur as to which models can be considered alien, and which of them can be considered released in the United States. You can pay a little more for insurance for a domestic model, because they are often stolen, and if you buy rare imports, it can be difficult to get spare parts or find a mechanic who can provide service. In general, however, the differences are not as significant as in the past.

In fact, there is no longer a right or wrong answer when it comes to the fact that foreign or domestic cars are better. Some still say that they will never buy anything except a car made in the USA, while others continue to swear by foreign manufacturers. When you try to choose between used cars, keep an open mind. Do not just assume that foreign manufacturers are always better, or that American cars are better. Free your mind from all prejudices and add more margin to your test drive and other considerations.
