So why would you choose a vacation in one of the lesser-known pieces of Caribbean cake? You can book a vacation on the islands of Aruba or Grand Cayman and to a large extent guarantee beautiful sunny days, sandy beaches and clear blue seas, so why risk it? I was not very risky with my vacation until two years ago, when my wife and I were on a vacation with friends. They rested in Honduras for several years and wanted to buy property on the north coast of the country. Through them, we had the opportunity to stay in a hotel in Trujillo Honduras. Without their assurances that we could have the perfect experience in the Caribbean, we would never go with him.
My friends are interested in buying property in the Trujillo Bay area, so we booked Trujillo, Honduras, in the resort of Banana Bay. About 40 minutes from the center of Trujillo, Banana is a secluded resort with an emphasis on bullying. We booked a private beach which was absolutely amazing. Round houses, rather than square ones, they managed to combine elegant modern comforts with traditional elements of the Caribbean, such as bamboo and colonial furniture. They even had a waterfall running through the house!
The resort was located far enough outside the city so that the beaches were almost deserted, so it was only kilometers of white sand in any direction. All the usual activities in the Caribbean were available, beach games, boating, snorkeling and scuba diving. There was even a tropical forest nearby, with beautiful waterfalls where we could go on foot. In our previous Caribbean holidays, there was nothing that we could not get here and for a fraction of the price.
So, if this does not convince you to start looking beyond the base vacation spot holidays, here are my top 5 reasons to get off the beaten track ...
- This is more secluded - one of the biggest problems you face in the “best” countries of the Caribbean is overpopulation. If you are not ready to pay through the nose, it is difficult for you to get the space and privacy you want on vacation.
- It is more authentic - as far as I love the culture of Jamaica and Barbados, I sometimes felt that it was not the culture that I saw, but the tourist version. From the heartbeat track, it feels more authentic.
- Value for money - If you want to spend a luxurious holiday anywhere in the world, it will cost you more money, but far from places like Aruba, the dollar goes much further. You can get a luxurious experience that also makes a big difference.
- An unruffled coastline - when people come, developers build for them. The reality of this is a built coastline that is not part of my Caribbean dream.
- Better engagement with locales - crime occurs everywhere, but some of the islands in the Caribbean suffer from tourism-related crime. In some places, this means that you rarely leave resort safety. Years associated with the tourism industry also mean that you regularly receive money for money. Yes, it happens in places like Honduras, but not on such a large scale.
So when you are planning your vacation, think of a hotel in Trujillo Honduras. Less hassle and more Caribbean entertainment!
