Four to four (4x4) cars and all-wheel drive cars (4WD) are popular with drivers who wish to transcend the grip and control of their car while driving. Unlike most cars that power only two wheels, 4x4 and 4WD cars provide power to four wheels to reduce slippage.

Difference between 4x4 and 4WD

4x4 wagons

4WD vehicles
In addition to wagons, other 4-wheeled vehicle options include SUVs and trucks. The design of the 4WD truck allows it to negotiate with rocky environments, cross streams, and even handle ditches. Trucks also offer maximum carrying capacity for transporting such things as cars and building materials.
Trucks have a sturdy construction that allows the vehicle to withstand the impact of moving over rocky terrain. Suspension and braking systems are typically first-class, and engines provide exceptional power and torque for the transport of heavy loads.
The 4WD SUV comes in utility and luxury models and has some of the characteristics of a truck, but with additional features for driver and passenger comfort. A luxury SUV can provide many nice features, but in most cases the engine is still powerful enough to tow several tons.
The main types of all-wheel drive cars are:
• Full time 4WD. The car provides constant power for all four wheels.
• Partial time 4WD. The driver can choose between 4x4 or 4x2 using a switch or lever.
• Automatic 4WD - The car works either in front or in the back of 2WD, except for the conditions established for 4-wheeled vehicles. The car automatically detects the conditions of the drives and switches to 4WD to prevent slipping.
